DANISH ANCESTRY
Compared to the number of people tracing their roots to Sweden or Norway, Danish Americans make up a small group among those of Scandinavian heritage. The greatest waves of Danish immigration occurred in 1881-1883, and in 1903-1905.
In the 2000 census, 1,430,897 people in the U.S. claimed Danish ancestry.
