Chagrin Falls is a village in Cuyahoga County, in the Cleveland-Elyria metro area.
One tradition says the community name stems from the embarrassment of Moses Cleaveland and his party of surveyors, who followed the river for miles, believing it was the Cuyahoga. Another says the name derives from an Indian term for "clear water"
