Eden is a city in Rockingham County, in the Greensboro-High Point metro area.
In the early 18th century, English landowner William Byrd II called the place Eden because of its lush vegetation. When the city incorporated in 1967 after the merger of the towns of Leaksville, Spray and Draper, local residents chose the name for the new community
