Duvall is on the Snoqualmie River, 25 miles northeast of Seattle.

Former and merged names include:
· Cherry Valley
· Cosgrove

The Duvall brothers, James and Francis, lived here in the 1870s. They made a living from logging.

After most of the land was cleared, by the turn of the 20th century, farms began to appear.

In 1909, the community moved half a mile south, to its present-day location, in order to be on the railroad line.

After its location was moved, the community's economy boomed. In 1913, Duval incorporated, as a town.

Duvall's first stoplight began operating in the mid-1990s.

Between 1990 and 2005, Duvall's population increased more than 100 percent.

Crime: The number of violent crimes recorded by the FBI in 2003 was 5. The number of murders and homicides was 0. The violent crime rate was 0.9 per 1,000 people.
