Hunts Point is a town in King County, in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metro area.
The community was named for Leigh S.J. Hunt, publisher of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Leigh's sound financial status faltered some years later and he relinquished the land to a bank.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Hunts Point was a summer vacation spot.
The Lake Washington Ship Canal, opened in 1917, lowered the level of Lake Washington more than 10 feet, creating more land in Hunts Point.
The community incorporated in 1955. The impetus for the change was a resident sub-dividing land and rumors of navy ships in Cozy Cove.
