Jamaica Plain is a neighborhood of Boston

In 1874, Jamaica Plain, which formerly was part of Roxbury, became part of the city of Boston.
Even after becoming part of the city, Jamaica Plain remained relatively pastoral and a popular place for summer homes.
In the 1800s, immigrants from Ireland, Italy, Germany, and Greece called the area home.More recently, in the past twenty years or so, the area has attracted Latin American immigrants.
