Cazenovia is a village in Madison County, in the Syracuse metro area.
The community was named after Theophile Cazenove, of the Holland Land Company.

During early days of the settlement, two brothers named Bumpus fought a bear near here, in Chittenango Creek. They avoided serious injury by stuffing the bear's mouth with stones.
The community develeloped as an affluent commuter suburb after World War II.
