Anaheim is a city in Orange County, in the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro area.

The community was named for "Ana" from the Santa Ana River and "heim," German for home.

The latitude of Anaheim is 33.835N. The longitude is -117.913W.

It is in the Pacific Standard time zone. Elevation is 157 feet.

When a plague wiped out area grape vines, groves of citrus trees were planted. Construction of the Santa Fe railroad linked citrus growers with eastern markets.

Disneyland, which opened in 1955, brought jobs, tourist dollars and new employers
