2006 elections: In the gubernatorial race, Michigan re-elected incumbent Democrat Jennifer Granholm over Republican Dick DeVos, with 56% of the vote. For Senate, the state re-elected Democrat Debbie Stabenow over Michael Bouchard, with 57% of the ballot.
Presidential politics: Dover is in Lenawee County, which supported George W. Bush in the last two presidential elections. According to unofficial vote totals for 2004, Bush received 25,669 votes and John Kerry received 20,785 votes.
In the November 2000 election, Lenawee County narrowly supported Bush. Countywide, 20,681 people voted for Bush and 18,365 voted for Gore.
Electoral College: Michigan has 17 of the Electoral College's 538 votes.
