Provo is the antithesis to the rollicking, party town. Students at the Mormon church-run Brigham Young University sign an honor code promising to live chaste lives and abstain from alcohol and tobacco. Beer was first served at the local Peaks Ice Arena when it hosted the 2002 Olympic hockey games.

Arts and entertainment offerings are limited, but unemployment is low, home ownership is high and opportunities for skiing, hiking and other outdoor recreation are plentiful.
